Zexion is the Nobody formally known as Ienzo. The youngest of the apprentices of Ansem the Wise (or "Ansem the Idiot Savant" as some have not inaccurately called him), at sixteen, he was a child prodigy who still had not reached his limit. Ienzo jumped at the chance for new researches and experiments, displaying ingenuity and the ability to improvise with little to go on, and make sure no one but him saw anything but the end results.

It was no surprise, then, when Ienzo lost his heart with the first six and became Zexion that his title was "The Cloaked Schemer". Disparaging? Perhaps. Inaccurate? Not in the least.

Zexion is quietly observant half the time, demandingly micromanaging the rest. Ten years without a heart and he's still used to reacting the same way he did then, fighting to not be treated like a child by acting like the adult in control. Sixteen going on fifty-six (Did we mention he's number VI? The universe likes these things, apparently).

His element remained hidden through all his canon - being revealed later through word of god to be illusion, appropriately enough. It fits Zexion's personality of keeping things to himself. About the only one he semi-opened up to was Lexaeus, one of his other former-colleagues turned Nobody. Admittedly, that mostly meant he got to see the normally placid boy's more high-strung teenager side.

Zexion is one of the ones who has probably lost most of himself. He doesn't pretend to be human anymore, he has the iron will of a scientist who WILL find out all the odds and angles to something, but other than the brief flashes of the feedback loop of personality when he runs into a familiar situation, he's practically become a sentient computer.

In Chain of Memories, Zexion is killed by the replica of Riku who is encouraged by Axel to commit this act. It is an on-screen death, and Zexion is gone. Being a Nobody, he doesn't die, he ceases to exist. All trace of him aside from the memories in the other Nobodies has been wiped from existence.

...It's a good thing, then, that he has stumbled in the day before receiving orders to participate in the Castle Oblivion project along with IV, V, VIII, XI, and XII.

Physically Zexion is only taller than Xigbar and Larxene, though he's eye-level with Larxene when she wears her boots. He's young, though, which is perhaps disturbing. Only a thread of willpower is keeping this child from the call of the void. He's attractive, a 'pretty boy' even, though the stern expression generally wards people off. His hair is a barely lavender/blue shaded silver, and while the style could be called 'emo' it's simply that he never cared enough about appearances to cut it properly.

...Better to not have seen how he dressed himself when he was alive. At least the Organization coat is flattering on his slim figure, and it's hard to go wrong with black and silver.

Zexion's lesser Nobodies that he controls are the Blue Mages. There are no more than twenty of them in existence, and they have the ability to speak and perform complex orders. They also have a unique ability among the lessers - they have a sense of self, albeit weak, and can differentiate themselves from the others.

AS OF 10/23/2008... Zexion has discovered the Library. As such, he is always having one manifestation there reading at all times. He is in fact going from wall to wall reading every single book. The permanent post for that is here. It is open indefinitely, so if you need to talk to him and he hasn't had an EP recently feel free to find him there.

A note to psychics and anyone else with extrasensory perceptions both technical and magical: Zexion is a Nobody. He has no heart, physical or metaphysical, and by rights should not be, even in his home canon. If you try to read his emotions you get nothing - not even the nothing of a sociopath or truly zen person - there's just dead air where a person should be. Sensors show up a being that clearly does not and should not exist (people particularly in-tune to their planet or their realities might even feel sick or disturbed just by being around them), even if you can see him standing right in front of you. This goes doubly for Zexion since he is illusion and nothing.

AS OF THANKSGIVING '08 Zexion had a heart. He isn't human, but rather a crossbreed of many species that can interbreed with humans. He's human enough. A note to psychics and anyone who tries to read his mind/touch his thoughts/etc. - Please, feel free to attempt this. But you are not alone when you look into his mind. Nyarlathotep gave him his heart, and is always watching. Make your looks brief, otherwise he may notice you.

...This has left a mark on Zexion. He is prone to irrational fits of crazycakes. You would be too if your Heart was gifted to you by a Lovecraftian Horror.
